Lamplight Global University chooses not to be accredited with the government, but to be a comprehensive individualized preparation for Christian ministry.
Lamplight Ministries’ books will mean so much more to you if you understand how Jack and I wrote each book. Jack never touched a computer.
God would give Jack the subject.
Jack would search the Bible for every verse he could find on the subject. He also read other books written on the topic.
As Jack did research on a topic, he would dictate verses and thoughts into a cassette recorder. He called these “Meditations.”
Jack mailed the “Meditations” on the cassette tape to his secretary, Gail, who would type the dictated words and mail them back to Jack in written form.
Jack would take scissors and cut up all the Meditations that included verses and thoughts and put them on the dining table, spreading them all out.
He would then look at each piece and place the papers in piles on the table that would become chapters.
He would then take the pieces of paper for each chapter, one by one, and put them in a certain order to create the flow for each chapter.
Then Jack would dictate into the microphone of a cassette recorder as he looked at each piece of paper in each folder. He would add a new thought as it came to him.
When he completed dictating all the chapters, he would put the cassette tape into an envelope and mail it to Gail.
Gail would then type the dictation and mail the written draft back to Jack.
Jack dictated every chapter.
He usually went over the first draft and sometimes the second draft before he gave the book to me to add my part and edit Jack’s part.
As I read through the first or second draft of the manuscript, when I saw a place where I knew to add a verse, thought, or idea, I would do research on verses and then I would write my part and send it to Gail, noting exactly where my addition would be inserted, page number and line number.
On the first heaven book, What Will Heaven Be Like?, we did eleven drafts!
We did not have a deadline. We kept working on a book until we were finished. We always felt we could make a book better, but we would come to a point at which we agreed that we should stop and call the book finished.
Every Lamplight book is indeed the spoken Word of God.
Jack left four first drafts for me to complete, so we will have four books with one author in heaven and one on earth!
